The fan pulley is a pulley attached to the fan. A pulley is the outer edge of a metal or hard plastic belt groove. The grooves are usually V-shaped and are constructed to match the belt mounted in them. As the belt moves, it causes the pulley to rotate, it turns a hub and turns the connected fan blades. Automotive engines often use pulley systems, such as those that work with alternators, fans, water pumps, and timing gears. The job of the fan is to move the air. It has two or more long flat blades connected to one end of the central hub. As the hub rotates, the blades also rotate, because the blades are slightly angled and they grab the air and push it behind them. The fan can be mounted directly on the motor shaft, but this is not always convenient. When the engine has a certain distance from the fan, the fan pulley is used. Maintenance:

1. Check the tension of the belt

　　 Choose to apply moderate pressure with the thumb in the middle of the longest unsupported drive belt span. If the belt depression is about 10 mm, the belt tension is considered to be just right. If the tension of the transmission belt is too large, or too loose, it may cause slippage and incomplete transmission. If the transmission belt is adjusted too tightly, the transmission belt will be easily stretched and deformed. At the same time, it will also accelerate the wear of the pulley and bearing. For this reason, the relevant adjusting nuts or bolts should be loosened to adjust the belt tension to the best condition.

2, pay attention to the wear of the belt

　　 Vehicle owners should pay special attention to belt wear during daily inspections. Because if the belt is worn severely, the contact area between the belt and the pulley will be sharply reduced. At this time, as long as the belt is pressed hard, the belt will sink deeply into the groove of the pulley.

3, pay attention to belt cracks

　　If there are cracks, cracks, peeling, etc. on the belt surface, or the belt has a slipping sound, it means that the belt may break and must be replaced immediately. If it is not replaced in time, once the belt breaks during driving, the vehicle will not be able to drive normally.

　　 When the season changes, the belt should be checked for aging and cracking. Generally speaking, the life of the belt must be shorter than that of the metal gear, so the belt should be replaced regularly. If necessary, it should be replaced immediately, otherwise it will bring you unpredictable losses. In addition, pay attention not to splash the oil on the belt when filling the engine with oil, which may easily cause the belt to slip or even prematurely age.
